About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with located at the U.S. Army Intelligence & Security Command, U.S. Army Counterintelligence Command, Technical Support Battalion at Fort Meade / Anne Arundel / Maryland.

Duties

Coordinates, plans, designs, conducts, and performs efforts related to systems and devices required by the intelligence community and required in support of operational missions as well as intelligence training missions. Serves as an Engineering Technician responsible for designing, fabricating and modifying of non-standard intelligence materiel in support of the intelligence mission. Participates in field mission/s to install, repair, and support customers and/or other agencies. Assesses field conditions and project requirements at locations other than the permanent duty station to define project scope.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire and maintain TSSI security clearance.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel to worldwide locations is required less than 25% of the time.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GG/GS-12).
