This position is located at Fort Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year-round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Duties

Serve as collective task developer/doctrine writer, work leader coordinator, consultant and evaluator for assigned collective training products. Develop training documents based on knowledge of unit doctrine, technological advances, new training developments in the field, and the needs and missions of the organization. Apply the Analysis, Design, and Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE) process to establish instructional design development. Recommend approaches, methods and techniques to expedite the analysis, design and development of training products and Unit Task Lists (UTL) Review and evaluate unit feedback and after action reports to identify and correct training shortfalls.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • A one-year trial/probationary period may be required.

(2) Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, to the improvement of instructional effectiveness (3) Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. (4) Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. OR (5) Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software. In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialize Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting in developing training documents, writing training evaluation outlines and developing and revising training materials 2) Applying the Analysis, Design, and Development Implementation 3) Establishing and maintaining audit trails for all actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
