This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 228.
This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).
This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Investment and Innovation in one of the locations listed above. The Senior Examiner's primary function is to examine individual SBICs for compliance with laws, regulations, and agency policies for effective oversight of licensed companies within the SBIC program.
Duties
Salary displayed is based on the "Rest of the US" pay scale and will be adjusted upon selection.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts comprehensive examinations of Small Business Investment Companies to determine compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.
Participates in conferences with key officials of Small Business Investment Companies, agency officials and other personnel to provide information regarding the results of examinations conducted.
Develops recommendations regarding procedural changes for improving the program regulatory oversight functions.
As directed, conducts special examinations of Small Business Investment Companies involving complex financial or regulatory matters, or history of regulatory non-compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector sector that includes:
1. Analyzing financial reports, financial transactions, organizational structures to determine the financial soundness and regulatory compliance of a business entity; AND
2. Presenting financial and technical information to management and other stakeholders regarding regulatory compliance issues; AND
3. Develop recommendations to modify approaches for regulatory review, audit or examination techniques. These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume.
