About the Position: This position is located within the US Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, Executive office Division, where you will file and report management, timekeeping, and carrying out administrative tasks as needed for the branch.

Duties

Provide administrative support preparing reports and other documents utilizing various software and automated information systems to electronically retrieve, create, review, format, transmit, finalize, print and save documents and reports. Receive and answers routine telephone inquiries or refers to the appropriate staff. Coordinate information and compiles for specific reports such as awards, budget execution, program management, quality management, training status and wide variety of routine tracking, analysis and reporting products. Assist with planning, preparing and supporting meetings and conferences. Prepare travel documents for TDY, PCS, and invitational travel orders. Research travel modes and accommodations, performs cost analysis and recommends most efficient method of travel, makes appropriate arrangements. Maintain required accounting data on all travel made and provides reports. Coordinate travel arrangements and resolves discrepancies involving travel method, leave while on travel, overtime and reimbursement errors. Create, process, and ensure statutory compliance for travel vouchers in accordance with the most current version of the Joint Travel Regulation.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes administrative work in an office environment to include responding to routine inquiries; preparing correspondence; maintaining files or records; and using automated systems to perform duties. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes administrative work in an office environment to include responding to routine inquiries; preparing correspondence; maintaining files or records; using automated systems to perform duties; and making credit card purchases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes procedural and administrative work in an office environment; make travel arrangements to include preparing orders and vouchers; coordinate training requirements; use an automated personnel database to initiate personnel actions; and use a financial management system to complete duties as timekeeper. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
