You will serve as a Maintenance Control Coordinator in the MRO Production Department of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will minimize aircraft downtime by coordinating maintenance actions and resources with the appropriate work centers to accomplish required troubleshooting and maintenance. You will track timely completion of each aircraft's daily/turnaround inspection. You will serve as the central point of contact and communication for all aircraft maintenance issues. You will maintain constant surveillance of overall flight line activity and monitor the condition of the flight line. You will ensure that all aircrafts released are safe for flight by reviewing flight folders, ensuring fuel samples are taken, ensure oil consumption has been reviewed, and update aircraft weight, balance, and configuration for each flight.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Minimizing aircraft down time by coordinating maintenance actions and resources with appropriate work centers to accomplish required troubleshooting and maintenance; (2) Directing and monitoring requisitioning, receipts, and allocations of materials, tools, aircraft components, and aviation support equipment to be at the proper location to accomplish required checks and maintenance; (3) Maintaining constant surveillance of overall flight line activity and informing the Flight Check Officer of work progress and advising on matters pertaining to aircraft assigned to the flight check department; and (4) Communicating with the Logs and Records Department to ensure all necessary Logs Book information is screened and compiled prior to flight. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
