About the Position: Serves under the general supervision of the Director of the Critical Care Flight Paramedic Program (CCFPP) for the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Receives assignments and directions in terms of published class schedules and subject areas to be taught. Interfaces with professional instructors, medical providers, training technologists and media specialists within the Medical Aviation Community; along with sponsoring programs educational/ training agencies. Follows and applies the Individual Student Assessment Plan to assure processes are applied fairly to all students during all course phases. Applies the best course design and most effective instructional methods to students in; Basic Life Support (BLS), ALS, PALS, rotary wing aero-medical evacuation, Critical Care, and NREMT-P skills.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes assigning student projects, researching, fact-finding, analyzing and interpreting a variety of material from different sources to be used in the development of lesson plans and maintaining current and up to date knowledge of advanced medical subjects (standards of care) and National Registered Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMTP) processes. Experience in Critical Care Nursing as a Registered Nurse-RN (clinical setting) in order to instruct at the advanced level and scope of the Critical Care Flight Paramedic Program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education / Training Program AdministrationInstructional DesignOral CommunicationTraining and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
