About the Position: Serves as supervisor and Ammunition Accountable Officer (AO), Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) of 407th AFSB, AFSBn-Hood, Supply and Services Division at JB San Antonio.

Duties

As Ammunition Accountable Officer, ensures all munitions stocks are properly accounted for and maintained. Determine and adjust stock levels of reorder points. Supervise subordinates and ASP operations. Serve as manager of the Ammunition Supply Point. Perform work on projects and conduct staff studies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may be a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Incumbent will have to pass a pre-employment physical to meet physical efforts requirement. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period may be required.
  • Position is subject to the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban/Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes knowledge of supply operations to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness/efficiency of operations; ensure adequate munitions accountability, facilities, and operations are conducted; evaluating and adjusting operations by reviewing work in progress or upon completion and assessing production data; monitoring operations including operation of automated systems Standard Army Ammunition Systems (SAAS), Ammunition Management Information Systems (TAMIS) processing munitions requisitions, and physical security procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Logistic Management, Operations Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: AccountabilityCustomer ServiceInventory ManagementLeadership Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
