This position serves as the Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Garrison Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Transition Services Manager (TSM) at a military installation responsible for managing resources, advising installation tenant units, marketing the program, and providing Alternate Contracting Officer Representative (ACOR) oversight of the TAP contract.

Duties

Transition Services Manager (TSM) at a military installation responsible for managing resources, advising installation tenant units and marketing the program. Serves as a liaison with installation transition service providers. Provides professional feedback and advice for the quality and quantity of transition services provided by installation service providers. Plans, coordinates, initiates, and directs the establishment of agreements, i.e., Memorandums of Support between service providers and the local, State, and Federal regional offices and the installation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 10%.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing transition assistance to service members departing military service, veterans and family members; analyzing data to evaluate transitional program services; coordinating workshops/seminars to promote transitional programs; and using automated systems to prepare reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
