This position is located in the Computing Environment and Collaboration Technical Branch (CECTB), within the Software Engineering Division (SED). This position serves as an IT Specialist with responsibility for Applications Software (APPSW) work that involves the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software.
Duties
Develops project estimates and schedules and communicates project status to management.
Ensures all web applications developed meets NASA and Federal cybersecurity requirements related to
items like access control and that all high and moderate vulnerabilities are addressed before software is
deployed.
Identifies customer objectives, and translates functional requirements into technical requirements used for
logical design, or presents alternative technologies or approaches.
Leads all aspects of web development including planning and analysis, requirements definition, design,
development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
Leads and manages application development projects utilizing agile project management processes.
Provides technical expertise in analyzing and resolving problems in support of web applications and
databases.
Works with organizational customers to identify, analyze and refine application requirements. Ensures
developed software meets intended requirements.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
Applying current internet technologies and web-based application tools, or delivery systems to support the planning and analysis of software applications;
Documenting and translating business processes requirements into technical application requirements;
Supporting web application development projects using Agile or similar methodologies and communicating results to management.
AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
