About the Position: This vacancy is for 1 Operations Research Analyst position. OFC ASST SECY OF ARMY (FM&C) DEPUTY ASSIST SEC OF THE ARMY (DASA)COST & ECOMOMICS WEAPONS SYSTEMS COSTING DIVISION at Fort Belvoir VA.

Duties

Applying and adapting standard principles and methods for operational research. Perform a broad range of studies and projects in areas relating to cost and economic analysis or acquisition costing of weapon systems, information systems, communications, and electronic systems. Interpret regulatory guidance to Performs a broad range of studies and projects. Provide recommendations regarding study guidance and tasking to study teams, senior leaders to ensure intent is met. Collect and analyze data, and recommend and defend findings. Develop cost and economic analysis methods for future use. Review the methodologies behind the cost and economic analyses used to make Department of Army Acquisition and Sustainment decisions Present technical briefings to key officials where clarity, accuracy, and concise articulation are vital to ensure understanding.

Requirements

  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for BUSINESS - COST ESTIMATING Advanced Certification within 48 months of EOD..
  • Position is Non-Critical Sensitive (2) requiring a Secret security clearance or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: GS 14: To qualify for the GS-14 level, all applicants must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Utilizing research methods and techniques to support cost and economic analyses of Defense Acquisition Programs AND 2) Providing technical guidance on statistical or operations research concepts as they apply to cost and economic analysis studies; AND 3) Applying analytical techniques and methodologies in mathematics, statistics, economics, or operations research, AND 4) Preparing and presenting briefings and reports for executive level management review. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsCost Estimation and AnalysisPlanning and EvaluatingProblem Solving
