This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Deputy Commissioner Transformation & Modernization, Information Services Business Applications & Solutions Division (BASD). The primary duties of the position involve managing the operation, development, and advancement of services provided by the division.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Specialist (APPSW), you will:
-Exercise delegated authority to oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of a major program segment (development, delivery, and support of business applications and solutions).
- Establish program goals and objectives and develops and approves multi-year and long-range work plans and policies, as well as manage the overall work to enhance achievement of the Branch's goals and objectives.
-Develop and implement policy and procedures, and standards for the program.
-Provide expert analysis and develop solutions to solve issues and problems associated with the program being overseen.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.Specialized experience for this position is performing IT work leading or supervising a team that writes code utilizing broadly adopted programming languages and frameworks in order to provide IT services supporting system development and system enhancements.
Examples of specialized experience for this position include both of the following:
-Experience in a leadership role in the completion of projects involving advanced computer concepts and programming techniques, and all phases of computer application, encompassing requirements analysis, system design and documentation, programming, and implementation; AND
-Participation in feasibility studies, technology planning, product evaluation and report development. AND
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must have IT-related proficiency in each of the four competencies listed below.
- Attention to Detail, such as reviewing work for accomplishment of objectives.
- Customer Service, such as providing support, recommendations and advice regarding system development and maintenance; and, assisting customers with formulating user requirements.
- Oral Communication, such as conducting briefings and meetings on job related subjects.
- Problem Solving, such as making decisions on work problems and negotiating work-related changes.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
