You will serve as an IT Specialist (NETWORK/SYSADMIN) in the Chief Information Office of NAVAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE COMMAND.
Duties
You will provide end-user support for all users and systems within the organization and serve as the organization's first line of help to resolve IT and computer systems related issues.
You will configure and administer standalone MAC OS and Windows Operating Systems to meet current Department of Navy (DON) Cybersecurity compliance requirements.
You will consult with customers regarding potential system or program upgrades.
You will proactively interact with users to ensure proper operation of computer systems, hardware, and software.
You will assist with tracking and maintaining of the IT asset inventory by preparing required documents and following established procedures to ensure accuracy of the inventory.
You will research, evaluate, and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements.
You will install, configure, operate, and provide and coordinate support for all client devices and applications and insure they meet the needs and requirements of the activity.
You will monitor and maintain system efficiency and ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together.
You will upgrade the divisions information systems and ensure it meets all Cybersecurity and program functionality and security requirements.
You will execute processes and procedures to comply with information security, physical security, configuration management, and support compliance monitoring.
Requirements

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Information Assurance level II within 12 months of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating a substantive knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods while leading, administering, developing, delivering, and/or supporting information technology (IT) systems and services. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Perform systems monitoring and process access control requests to maintain system security and minimize risks; 2) Assist with the administration of desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, phones, smartphones, software deployment security updates and/or patches;3) Troubleshoot problems reported by users and make recommendations for future upgrades.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education:
Successful completion of a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management
or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
OR
Successful completion of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
