This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will serve as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) with responsibility for developing strategic plans and managing Cybersecurity Programs and activities for assigned systems and sites.
Duties
This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021.
As a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Develops and maintains an organizational or system, cloud environment, of network-level cybersecurity program that includes cybersecurity architecture, requirements, objectives and policies, cybersecurity personnel, and cybersecurity processes and procedures.
Acquire and manage the necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key security personnel, to support information technology (IT) security goals and objectives and reduce overall organizational risk.
Participate in and interpret risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection requirements.
Ensuring enforcement of Federal, Defense, DSCA regional and local Cyber/IA regulatory requirements and policies over existing IT resources and for the development and introduction of new and upgraded IT systems to the network in accordance with applicable regulation and local Configuration Management Boards, National Security Agency (NSA) requirements and guidance, Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIGs) and Best Business Practices.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS 13 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Applying cybersecurity policy, techniques, and technologies;
Developing policies and procedures;
Researching problems and conditions, formulating courses of action, and interpreting DoD directives, instructions, and other regulations and;
Utilizing project management methodologies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
