You will serve as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist of National Museum of the United States Navy.

Duties

You will have knowledge of industrial hygiene, environmental, and fire protection sufficient to identify common deficiencies found at the worksite for referral to the appropriate allied safety professions. You will have knowledge of accident/incident investigation, reporting and analysis techniques sufficient to identify causal factors and recommend corrective measures. You will have knowledge of management information systems, office automation systems computer applications, and safety management systems. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of training practices, techniques and requirements to conduct training in a wide variety of topics including noise, sight, conservation, curation, and worksite specific hazards, chemicals and electrical. You will have knowledge of principal inspection and survey techniques, sufficient to identify occupational hazards and to determine elements giving rise to mishaps.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a comprehensive knowledge of occupational safety and health principles, techniques and practices, and standards applicable to the performance of surveys in the industrial and non-industrial environment. I have experience implementing and managing mission aspects of the museum safety programs. Specialized experience may demonstrate the following: (1) Conducting & documenting Safety Inspections & Mishap Investigations using the risk management Information database; (RMI) and The Enterprise Safety Application Management System; (ESAMS); (2) Utilizing knowledge of principal inspection and survey techniques, sufficient to identify occupational hazards and to determine elements giving rise to mishaps; (3) Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of OSHA recordkeeping and annual reporting requirements; (4) Demonstrating experience in writing safety programs and self-managing projects to completion; (5) Demonstrating experience and knowledge in developing lesson plans and conducting safety training.
