You will serve as a Safety Director in the Safety Directorate of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING SYSTEMS COMMAND.
Duties
You will inspect and/or oversee the inspection of workplaces, processes, products, or other systems for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies.
You will develop communication plans for the promotion of Command, Agency, or DoD objectives and programs.
You will manage the budget and fiscal resources to support administered Command safety programs.
You will maintain a Command management information system that includes data of occupational and off duty injuries, illnesses, material property damage, costs, and the causes.
You will determine the best method(s) for Command personnel training (e.g., formal safety education, informal training, sharing information at meetings, publicity campaigns for safety awareness) through collaboration with management.

- This position requires travel, up to 25% of the time, from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties including: 1) Providing technical and policy expertise regarding Safety and Occupational Health programs to agency-wide personnel; 2) Originating extensive program and developmental efforts where prevailing issues are largely undefined and involve problems of far-reaching implication or potential catastrophe; 3) Assessing and providing strategic direction for resolution of mission critical problems, policies and procedures and initiating actions that integrate and implement strategic direction for vital Safety and Occupational Health Program with long-term impact on large numbers of people; 4) Working with customers at management levels to resolve problems affecting Safety program/projects (determining priorities/resolving conflicts/etc.) and working with organizational leadership to stimulate customer alliances/interactions; 5) Preparing reviews and/or approving major reports or policies of the organization for internal and external distribution and presenting organizational briefings to convey strategic vision and/or organizational policies.
