You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER in the Command Operations and Infrastructure Division (SEA 10). Total Force and Corporate Operations Directorate (SEA 10) of NAVAL SEA SYSTEMS COMMAND.

Duties

You will formulate and establish broad policy, guidance, plans and direction for carrying out the provisions of Public Law 91-956. Executive Order 12196, 29 CFR 1960, and OSHA standards within NAVSEA. you will review high-level policy, adapt and interpret guidelines, and develops policy and guideline specific to NAVSEA HQ programs, address situations previously encountered and emerging issues. You will serve as a NAVSEA representative to working groups or committees that review and recommend changes to policies or guidelines. You will administer, guide, and overlook OSH program elements including inspections, evaluations, surveys, education, training, instructions, mishaps prevention, accident investigation reporting and other activities for OSH. You will support the completion of OSH inspections at all NAVSEA HQ/PEO spaces annually or more often as needed. You will prepare formal report of finding and Program Improvement Plan which is submitted to the NAVSEA Safety Director as part of the overall command self-assessment. You will evaluate NAVSEA compliance with OSHA and Fire Protection/Prevention program requirements. You conduct investigations in response to incidents or accidents involving employees or equipment as required to determine causes of incidents. You will maintain liaison with safety and health personnel of Fedeal, State, County, city, and private organizations.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: "developing and managing Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) policies, directives, and guidance for the evaluation of safety programs to ensure compliance with laws and regulation."
