About the Position: Serves as a Training Administrator (EMS), Army's liaison for all National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) issues and supports 68Ws, 18Ds, and government service EMS personnel worldwide, located in Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Duties
Receive, review, and process requests for recertification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
Develop and maintain Army EMS site code approval for EMT Basic, EMT-Basic refresher, EMT Bridge, Combat Medic Advanced Skills Training (CMAST).
Develop quality assurance measures to ensure training sites are meeting training standards.
Conduct staff assisted visits and investigative visits.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- This position requires the employee to obtain the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Certification within 12 months of employment.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes demonstrating a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction; establishing policies and procedures for training and recertification processes; evaluating training sites to develop strategies and recommendations for improvement; utilizing the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) to assist paramedic professionals with recertification and obtaining continuing education units; developing quality assurance measures to ensure training sites are meeting training standards; and preparing correspondence and technical reports for management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Health Care Administration, Emergency Medical Services Administration, Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
