These positions are located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Intelligence, Office of Intelligence Programs (NI) and the Indicator Programs Section (NII) offices in Arlington, Virginia.
The position(s) primary purpose is to support the Intelligence Division. The incumbent evaluates, plans, and analyzes programs to measure the effectiveness of the Intelligence Division.

As a your typical work assignments may include:
Provides expert advice and guidance on broad projects and programs with national impact. Guidance requires extensive interpretation for many different and unrelated program processes and methods, such as inter-relations of original legislative or judicial intent and advice on revisions to existing policies and programs to meet requirements. Recommends long-range program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones, which serve as the basis for substantive changes in the organization and administration of programs affecting large numbers of people.
Works with appropriate DEA intelligence Division personnel. Reviews and evaluates Intelligence Division needs. Maintains liaison and productive relationships. Develops and updates objectives and strategies. Reviews activities, problems, and recommendations; identifies those related and worthy of further analysis and discussion and recommends responses and solutions. Ensures approved recommendations are implemented timely and efficiently and monitors progress.
Serves as Program Analyst and advisor within the Division with responsibility for providing program analysis, project management (including cost analysis, risk analysis, schedule analysis), strategic planning, and continuous performance improvement for an assigned portfolio of programs.
Evaluate programs which are extremely complex; have significant Division implications and to assess the overall program effectiveness and provide advice/ recommendations for improvement to the Division. Analyzes workload, objectives, and requirements of assigned programs to establish efficient management practices, determines administrative fund requirements, and assures the highest degree of proficiency in the development and execution of assigned programs.
Review, advises on, and conducts complex analyses, evaluations, or investigations in support of organizational programs, systems, and processes, including areas where definitions, methods, and/or data are incomplete, controversial, or uncertain, or where boundaries of the studies are extremely broad and difficult to determine in advance. Plans and conducts experimental analyses that results in new design guidelines and have a profound effect on program or mission capabilities and/or operating procedures. Develops new methods and techniques to address novel or obscure problems for which guidelines or precedents are not substantially applicable. Documents and reports study results to management.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent GS-13. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
