About the Position: This Military Analyst position is located at Redstone Arsenal, AL with the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), Center of Excellence, AMD Integration Division.
Duties
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Planner for the Army Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Integration Division, supporting the Commanding General (CG), USASMDC.
Develop a holistic AMD strategy to examine emerging concepts within the Army Missile Defense mission areas.
Provides subject matter expertise for other AMD Enterprise wargames and concept teams on Army AMD Force Enhancement concepts.
Reviews, analyzes, and develops plans and metrics to complete program reviews and provide Command oversight and evaluation of capabilities applications for the Army AMD Enterprise.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Sensitive Compartmented Info. Intelligence Community Dir 704 security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing and/or analyzing Air and Missile Defense (AMD) systems and operations to include their technical and military performance characteristics, functions and operational uses; making sound proposals as it pertains to decisions that significantly impact developing air and missile defense policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
