About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the policy guidance and direction of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD (HA)), at Fort Sam Houston, Bexar, Texas. Note: Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties

Identify alternative healthcare delivery models, process re-engineering, analysis, and the evaluation of various telemedicine initiatives. Review and analyze clinical workflow methods and operational procedures and makes changes based on findings. Provide technical guidance on IM/IT system acquisition procurement standards and policies as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR). Independently provide advice and guidance to the MHS, other staff directorates, regional and local customers, and resolves problems. Serve as the Business Process Management (BPM) representative presiding over various committees as consultant in BPM programmatic and informatics. Maintains effective management-employee relations through communications and recognition of employee performance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the implementation of clinical information systems supporting patient care; coordinating staff projects to meet deadlines; and analyzing clinical workflow methods and make changes based on findings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
