You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGMEENT ANALYST in the MARINE CORPS DISTRICT of 12TH MARINE CORPS DISTRICT.

Duties

You will perform functions such as: formulation of budget and cost estimates to support plans, programs, and activities. You will perform studies or assist others with full scale studies for the purpose of evaluation of budget, fiscal, payroll, cash control, and benefit systems. You will develop, determine, and interpret budgetary policies and practices. You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems, analytical, forecasting and interpretive functions associated with resources or funds; and racking and control of funds.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge of budget administration, analyzing and maintaining budget, and cost estimates to support plans, programs and activities. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Applicants may also qualify based on education OR a combination of education and experience, in lieu of the one year of specialized experience listed above, through ONE of the following:

Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree.

OR

Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's degree.

OR

OR

Possess a combination of specialized experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal 100 percent.
