You will serve as a Administrative Officer of NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY.
Duties
You will compose and answer correspondence received from outside sources on any and all aspects of the museum operation.
You will manage routine administrative functions within the directorate for the supervisor such as mail management, recurring reports, phone calls and visitors, and preparation of briefings and formal meetings/
You will maintain records concerning financial transactions whether by purchase card or contract, including requisitions, receipts and reconciliation.
You will provide guidance to employees regarding various training policies/requirements as well as courses available for the various functions within the museums.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing a variety of administrative management functions and assisting in budget functions. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Authenticating, drafting, creating, and maintaining correspondence and correspondence files. 2) Maintaining records related to a budget, financial transactions or purchase card. 3) Planning, coordinating, and scheduling events/meetings. 4) Performing day-to-day administrative operations related to records, reports, documentation, mail, and filing.
GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least ne year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing basic administrative management functions related to most of the following: correspondence, scheduling, customer support, and mail duties. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Drafting, creating, and maintaining correspondence and correspondence files 2) Scheduling meetings, events, or trainings. 3) Performing customer support functions such as handling visitors and phone calls. 4) Maintaining official mail and distribution.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-9:
master's or equivalent graduate degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
A combination of graduate education and experience that when added total 100 percent. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9
GS-7:
1 full year of graduate level education. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement.
OR
A combination of graduate education and experience that when added total 100 percent.
