You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the Operations Department (Code 300) Operations Manager (O3001) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will direct the technical development, preparation, coordination and approval of production work and testing schedules.
You will be responsible for the development of mandatory technical work sequences and related matters pertaining to the development and issue of schedules.
You will be responsible for the development of standard schedules for repetitive work and upkeep of a historical schedule file system.
You will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of a viable training plan for schedulers, engineers- and engineering technicians within the section.
You will also be responsible for all facets of training of all shipyard personnel in the use of automated schedules, charts, etc. produced by the section.
You will rearrange ship work schedules methods and procedures in keeping with work requirements and sets standards of quality and quantity.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience performing nuclear and non-nuclear ship systems and ship repair techniques;
Experience applying scheduling techniques for feasibility, proper work sequences, explanation of unusual or complex jobs and absence of significant schedule dates which might present problems;
Experience applying application of automated data processing equipment to shipyard production control;
Experience providing solutions to scheduling problems which result from changes in ship availability, shop overloads, dry dock availability, etc;
Experience directing and organizing work of subordinates to ensure scheduling functions are accomplished.
