You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the Work Packaging (Nuclear) Branch (Code 229) in the Process Controls Division (Code 220) for the Chief Engineer (Code 240) at the Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will resolve conflicts in work execution and schedule priorities between project managers, coordinating inside shop and managing the work certification. You will support and implement necessary modifications to project work. You will develop project work packaging strategies for execution of complex overhauls. You will work packages establish complete and detailed manpower, material and equipment requirements encompassing the entire project. You will establish schedule priorities for Project Zone Managers, who need dates for in-shop fabrication work and material delivery requirements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience strategically planning and managing work schedule, cost, material and technical work instruction to accomplish project mission. Experience preventing production delays, scheduling conflicts and lack of sufficient materials and instructions. Experience reading and interpreting TGIs, drawings, process instructions, specifications, corporate Nuclear Power Manuals, technical manuals and standards, and work documents. Experience applying knowledge of material acquisition, storage, issue, hazardous material procedures, kitting and delivery. Experience utilizing knowledge of Project Management and Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) processes and of Shipyard Material Management and project computer applications.
