You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the Operations Department (Code 300), Operations Manager (O3001) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will direct the technical development, preparation, coordination and approval of production work and testing schedules. You will be responsible for the development of mandatory technical work sequences and related matters pertaining to the development and issue of schedules. You will rearrange ship work schedules methods and procedures in keeping with work requirements and sets standards of quality and quantity.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience exercising original thinking in the technical development, preparation, and approval of production schedules. Experience performing nuclear and non-nuclear ship systems and ship repair techniques. Experience demonstrating the work of each shipyard trade and must possess a broad knowledge of Operations Department functions, shipyard organization and channels of communication of the shipyard. Experience applying scheduling techniques including Program Evaluation and Review Technique, Critical Path Method and Gantt chart development. Experience utilizing automated data processing equipment to shipyard production control. Experience directing and coordinating the work of his/her subordinates to accomplish the scheduling functions efficiently within stringent time limitations; Experience utilizing effective written and oral communication skills.
