Duties

Provides on-going administration script development and maintenance of one or more tools used for application performance monitoring and end-user experience simulation. Tools include Micro Focus Application Performance Manager, Business Process Manager, VuGen, LoadRunner, Operations Bridge Manager, SiteScope, Real-User Manager, Operations Bridge Reporter, Business-Value Dashboard ? collectively known as ?Topaz?. Performs environment operations to include: creating scripts, loading, testing, and ensuring the tools operate properly in the environment. Consults with and implements software agents as requested by application owners. Evaluates performance, troubleshoots performance problems and tunes tool script performance. Provides guidance and informal cross training to technicians less experienced in assigned tool to provide for adequate backup for all duties.

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Specialist (APPSW), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Analyzes diagnostics and automatic alerts and act to resolve problems at earliest notice. Recommends improvements, enhancements and major changes to enhance tool performance in enterprise development environment. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
