The Program Support Assistant (PSA) position is located in the Primary Care Service Line at Northern Arizona VA Healthcare System. The incumbent serves as the administrative and program support and provides Remote Patient Monitoring/Home Telehealth (RPM/HT) program support and assistance with all administration functions and equipment involved. The PSA works closely with the RPM/HT administrative personnel, the Home Telehealth Care Coordinators and the Telehealth Manager.

Duties

Major duties include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for attaining and maintaining basic competencies in operation of telehealth equipment to assist in enrolling and discharging patients in the RPM/HT program Assist in troubleshooting problems for patients, answering questions for patients and staff, and supporting the RPM/HT team. Responsible for establishing and maintaining inventory of all telehealth equipment including leased and purchased equipment. Responsible for maintaining inventory of total equipment costs and completing/compiling reports pertaining to these costs. Participate in ordering, tracking and retrieval of VA issued tablets used for VA Video Connect (VVC). Analysis of monthly reports, tablet tracking dashboards, utilization reports and all other available tools used for managing resources. Tracking/Monitoring open encounters, maintaining Continuity of Operations (COOP) list, and updating Standard Operating Procedures and emergency plans. Responsible for the collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of the Home Telehealth/Telehealth program operations. Responsible for attaining and maintaining basic competencies related to the operation of telehealth equipment to assist in trouble shooting problems for patients, answering questions for patients/staff/customers, and supporting all telehealth programs. Creates and maintains databases for effective and efficient tracking and trending of resources within the department. Conducts internal audits and generates reports of findings. Triage phone calls, order office supplies, assist with mailings, and take meeting minutes. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/30/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-05 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-03. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility MUST be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing administrative support for an office; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; ordering and maintaining office supplies; reviewing all incoming and outgoing correspondence; and utilizing office automation software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position AND the number of hours per week spent in such employment. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. Transcripts MUST be submitted at the time of application. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and post high school education beyond the second year, which may be used to meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Attention to DetailClericalTechnical Competence Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The primary work environment will be in an office setting. The work is primarily sedentary but one may be required to stand, sit, bend, stoop, walk, and carry light items such as books, papers and telehealth equipment.???????
