Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary (OS); Assistant Secretary-Policy, Management, and Budget; Deputy Assistant Secretary-Human Capital and Diversity; Office of Human Capital in Washington, DC.

At the full performance level GS-12 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Oversees all administrative operations in the office, including correspondence tracking within and outside the office, such as 508 compliance and records management.
2) Oversees and manages the office's budget to include systems, all purchases, working capital fund for five working capital budgets, budget process for current year and out-years, budget shortfalls, appropriated accounts, over 40 personnel directly with the budget office to ensure proper accountability for current budget request and future budget requests.
3) Tracks expended funds and future planned purchases.
4) Tracks all Honor Awards for the Annual Departmental Awards ceremony and coordinates with servicing HR office to ensure timely awarding of service awards/pins and other employee recognition.
The Office of the Secretary has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Washington, DC Salary Range Information:
GS-12: $94,999 - $122,459 per annum
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience:
To qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) processing time and attendance; 2) tracking, managing, and providing updates on budget, such as tracking expenditures and providing information on funds availability; 3) conducting quality control on products for broad dissemination; 4) tracking deliverables via government software systems, such as correspondence tracking systems, budget systems, or personnel systems; and 5) creating and editing documents in Microsoft Office suite or other similar productivity software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
