The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Intelligence analyst providing technical analysis and analytic support in the acquisition and employment of current and future Air Force capabilities. Engages in semicomplex to complex technical analysis and production of information obtained and processed from one or more intelligence sources in support of customer requirements.
Duties
Serves as an Intelligence Analyst supporting acquisition processes and programs. Provides Air Force programs/initiatives with high quality intelligence and intelligence support to identify and minimize cost, schedule, and performance risks as early in the system's life-cycle as possible.
Conducts semi-complex to complex analysis of multi-source intelligence. Interprets and makes analytic judgments on broad-based and domain/discipline specific intelligence products, applications, capabilities, and resources in support of acquisition intelligence and intelligence support activities.
Identifies requirements and presents ISR capabilities to a variety of acquisition customers. Provides customers intelligence information and analysis derived from ISR assets to support effective development, fielding, employment, sustainment, and improvement of Air Force capabilities.
Serves as a functional expert on specific ISR programs, systems, or issues. Makes recommendations and defends intelligence positions to the program office, directorate and/or center leadership, and other command-level or external customers.

Qualifications
This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. Work Statement and Performance Level
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of a wide range of intelligence research methods, techniques, practices, and advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods used to identify and analyze complex multi-source intelligence information to produce detailed intelligence capabilities and threat assessments, identify intelligence deficiencies, and advocate for customer requirements. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of the intelligence cycle and policy and guidance, and the structure, organization, roles missions, and inter-relationships of the national, DoD, and USAF IC.
Knowledge of acquisition policy and guidance and the role intelligence plays throughout a weapons system's life-cycle; Acquisition Intelligence analysis mission and strategy; and the roles and responsibilities of MAJCOM's field intelligence offices in support of USAF research laboratories, acquisition program offices, life-cycle management, nuclear, sustainment, and system testing enterprises.
Knowledge of a wide range of intelligence research methods, techniques, practices, and advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods used to identify and analyze complex multi-source intelligence information to produce detailed intelligence capabilities and threat assessments, identify intelligence deficiencies, and advocate for customer requirements.
Skill in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing intelligence requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of clients.
Skill in communicating clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, subordinates, contractors, academia, and other agencies to work out solutions to problems, prepare professional level documents and studies, and decision briefs.
Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data, and make decisions, estimates, and recommendations, based on mature judgment and experience under conditions of urgency and competing resources to present and/or defend a position effectively.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
