About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army National Guard Readiness Center, G-3, Training Division in Arlington, Virginia.
About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.
Duties
Develop, implement, and administer policy or operational programs.
Provide technical advice and assistance in the military personnel management program for active components and active guard reserve components.
Make recommendations on major changes in organizational structure to achieve the best possible mix of reducing operating costs and assuring program effectiveness.
Conduct long range strategic planning to meet future objectives and requirements of the extensive and delicate coordination of necessary changes affecting the Army National Guard.
Represent the Army National Guard (ARNG) G-3 regarding ARNG plans, policies, programs, or decisions.
Make or approve selections for subordinate supervisors.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting long range strategic planning to meet future objectives in training management; developing training policy and programs for implementation; executing fiscal management activities through the planning, programming, budgeting, and execution process; building partnerships or collaborating with internal and external organizations; giving advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
