You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Facilities Maintenance Division of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.
Duties
You will develop cost estimates including labor, material, equipment and performance time using applicable technical manuals, Federal/Military Specifications, unit cost estimating guides, and industry pricing standards.
You will prepare, submit and track a wide variety of technical and administrative correspondence relating to management of Real Property.
You will prepare contract work statements for all work that fall within one or more classification of maintenance, repair, alteration, construction or installation of equipment.
You will make recommendations to the Supervisory General Engineer and Public Works Officer in response to inquiries.
You will meet with tenant, planners, environmental and shop personnel prior to preparing contract work estimates to ensure that the scope of work is mutually understood.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Proper safety attire may be required to be worn
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning and organizing construction projects related to engineering and architecture (and their methods and principles) to analyze and evaluate proposals for design and construction contracting and the requirements that accompany them, as well as working with various contracting agencies.
