DCSA's Office of Inspector General is seeking a Deputy Inspector General for Special Cases & Assistance. In this role you will plan, direct, and supervise the special cases & assistance programs. You will also be responsible for all DoD Hotline and DCSA IG Hotline submissions received at DCSA. This is an excellent opportunity for those with knowledge & experience of IG functions, IG Hotline operations, risk management, and analytical & evaluative methods.
Duties
As a Deputy Inspector General for Special Cases and Assistance you will be responsible for the following duties:
*Responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the special cases and assistance programs within the DCSA IG, to include the DCSA IG Hotline. Ensures operational compliance with all policies and procedures of the DCSA IG, DCSA, DoD, and other pertinent instructions and/or regulations.
*Reviews incoming cases, to include matters received from DoD IG Hotline and other sources. Cases include assistance, complaints, inquiries, and investigations on a wide range of matters under the purview of the DCSA IG.
*Conducts and/or oversees the conducting of all case work. Reviews memorandums, responses, reports of investigation, and other documents for completeness, accuracy, and to ensure all matters are fully resolved. Cases often involve highly complex and/or sensitive issues and include staff at all levels, up to and including members of the Senior Executive Service.
*Develops, reviews, and analyzes internal controls, related reports, and other sources of information to aid in the deterrence, detection, and investigation of fraud, waste, abuse, and employee misconduct.
*Reviews polices and procedures, maintains administrative and performance related data, conducts liaison activities with internal and external parties, including other OIGs, researches and writes a variety of correspondence, often times with short suspenses and/or senior level interest.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience with Inspector General functions such as conducting comprehensive assessments of programs and procedures to identify and mitigate existing and potential risk factors; Conducting and/or oversight of investigations or other fact-finding processes. Interacting with high-ranking officials to settle controversial issues. Providing detailed briefings, and preparing and reviewing complex written documents. Providing functional advice and guidance to team members. Providing conclusive findings with regards to requests for assistance, resolution of complaints;. Documenting thorough, complete, accurate and fact-based inquiries/investigations.

Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
