Duties

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Trust Funds Administration, Office of Trust Risk, Evaluation, and Compliance, Albuquerque, New Mexico. At the full performance level (GS-7) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Coordinates administrative activities of an office and provides suggestions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of office administrative activities. 2. Provides general administrative support to the office, arranging for equipment, supplies, and office space as needed. 3. Organizes and maintains office subject matter records files such as budget, personnel files, program administrative materials, etc. and uses guidelines and records schedules to determine disposition. 4. Provides time and attendance support to the office through the use of automated time and attendance systems, maintains and validates the time and attendance reports, and coordinates with the Bureau-level administrative office. 5. Coordinates or prepares travel activities/arrangements for the Director and assists staff with travel matters, travel arrangements, travel authorizations and vouchers. 6. Processes requisitions and purchases office supplies, materials and services, and maintains a requisition log to record expenditures. The Bureau of Trust Funds Administration has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Salary Information GS-06: $42,429 (step 1) - $55,154 (step 10) per annum GS-07: $47,148 (step 1) - $61,292 (step 10) per annum First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying. GS-06 Specialized Experience : To qualify for the GS-06, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1-Coordinating administrative activities of an office including organizing and maintaining office files and records. 2-Serving as a timekeeper or back-up timekeeper utilizing an automated time and attendance system and maintaining and validating time and attendance reports. 3-Preparing travel activities/arrangements and assisting staff with travel matters (arrangements, authorizations, and vouchers), and in processing and purchasing office supplies, materials and services. Must meet all 3. GS-07 Specialized Experience : To qualify for the GS-07, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1-Coordinating administrative activities of an office including organizing and maintaining office files and records. 2-Serving as a timekeeper or back-up timekeeper utilizing an automated time and attendance system and maintaining and validating time and attendance reports. 3-Preparing travel activities/arrangements and assisting staff with travel matters (arrangements, authorizations, and vouchers), and in processing and purchasing office supplies, materials, and services. 4- Using software to enter, revise, sort, calculate, and finalize data for special reports, memorandums, and determine the most effective way to display information for accuracy, format, spacing, spelling, punctuation, and grammatical correctness. 5-Assisting with planning, organizing, and coordinating budget and procurement activities for the office. Must meet all 5. Typing Proficiency Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements for the grade level above, ALL applicants must show possession of 40 words per minute typing speed with three or fewer errors based on a 5 minute sample.
