About the Position: Serve as an Animal Health Care Training Instructor. Research, develop and present course content to include incorporating changes in the standard of care and evaluating new procedures, techniques, and equipment for inclusion in the various curricula presented to initial entry and mid-career officers and enlisted personnel, located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
This position is a term position NTE 2 Years.
Duties
Provides motivational and remedial advice, counsels and develops students professionally in accordance with accreditor requirements, monitors students' abilities and provides guidance.
Plan, develop, monitor, manage and present lectures, demonstrations and practical exercises in animal health care and anesthesia.
Serves as a training instructor to monitor and evaluate the curriculum.
Plan and carry out assigned classroom and laboratory activities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or expereince requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes providing classroom and instruct didactic classes and practical exercises in assigned subject area; instructing and evaluating instructors from a variety of health related disciplines at the AMEDDC&S to include veterinary, animal care specialist, anatomy, anesthesiology, physiology, radiology, parasitology, hematology, urinalysis, physical exam, other clinical laboratory and veterinary dentistry both routine and special procedures. Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. AND working in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Education or Training and Development.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
