About the Position: This is a PERMANENT Supervisory Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation) position with the U.S. Army Training Center, 193rd Infantry Brigade, 120th AG Battalion (Reception) located at Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Prepares reports and/or briefings to inform management of analysis results for use in the decision-making process and for in-progress status information.
Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and capabilities of employees.
Manages teamwork and administrative requirements on a daily, weekly, project or longer basis but within general schedules and priorities set by higher level management
Interviews personnel using RECMOD to obtain information as needed to complete records and/or to correct discrepancies.
Ensures eligible members are listed in the DEERS /RAPIDS and that action is taken to have their family members listed or deleted as necessary.
Research and/or provides information regarding directly applicable rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements to provide explanations of actions taken.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to pass a full background investigation.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using automated Human Resources systems such as Reception Module (RECMOD)/DEERS RAPIDS to enter data and search for records; managing movement of large groups of people efficiently, applying experience with military human resources laws and guidance to perform daily tasks, conducting in and out processing of Soldiers, possessing strong verbal communication skills, processing a variety of military personnel actions using automated HR systems, and experience leading, training and coordinating daily activities of other employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
