ABOUT THE POSITION: The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), a subordinate research laboratory under the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, is the lead medical biological defense research laboratory for the DOD Chemical Biological Defense Program. Duties

Receive, execute, and track parts and service requests for processing with a Government purchase card, ensuring documentation in a system of record for timely completion of research equipment service. Ensure that all governmental contracts and purchasing requirements are in accordance all applicable regulations. Perform inventory accounting to maintain the integrity of accountable records. Maintain the computerized property books and registers as required in the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) System. Serve as the point of contact for all aged invoices, certifications, and receiving reports submitted manually or electronically.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
  • Operation of a forklift if required. Incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a forklift licensure certification within 90 days of entrance into this position.

Qualifications

USAMRIID is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP). The DJ-02 payband is equivalent to the GS-05 step 1 to GS-10 step 10 level, however Management has elected to announce at the higher end of the pay band (GS-09, step 1 to the GS-10, step 10). In keeping with the Demonstration pay fixing policies, employees earning a salary that falls within this payband equivalent, will not receive an immediate pay increase (promotion) if appointed to this position. Future pay increases within the payband will be accomplished through the pay for performance management system. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Experience acquiring medical supplies and equipment through the use of an automated purchase request system; (2) Experience managing contracts involving the procurement of medical equipment and; (3) Experience in inventory accounting of medical logistics. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply chain management, business administration, operations management, logistics, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics, contract management and procurement. (NOTE: These examples of related curricula are not all-inclusive) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
