This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Financial Management Division (FC), Office of Finance (FN).
This position(s) primary purpose is to support FN with Accounting transactions reviewing and processing where extensive research is required.

As a Fiscal Specialist, your typical work assignments may include:
Responsible for reviewing and approving a wide variety of source documentation relating to specific accounting transactions (e.g., Government Account (GTA) billing statements; Intragovernmental Payment and Collection (PAC) billings; Consolidated American Payroll Processing Systems (CAPPS)).
Analyzing and resolving complex payment certification issues through the use of the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS)/ Momentum.
Determining deficiencies in procedures and systems, and participating in resolving problems to ensure regulatory compliance, and accurate financial data.
Developing and presenting action plans designed to provide sustained financial management improvement across DEA-targeted sites to include Division, Foreign, and HQ offices as identified by DEA.

Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
GS-12:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to a GS-11: 1) Reviewing, analyzing and interpreting financial documents; 2) Performing accounting transactions such as payments, allowances and cash invoices; 3) Following operational financial and accounting policies and guidance.
GS-13:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to a GS-12: 1) Reviewing, analyzing and interpreting financial documents; 2) Performing accounting transactions such as payments, allowances, and cash invoices; 3) Analyzing and making recommendations on financial policies or guidance for an organization.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes:
