You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the Operations Manager (Code 3001) of the Operations Department (Code 300) at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.
Duties
You will determine by identifying that work which is critical due to the amount of work, complexity of the work operations, manning requirements, technical sequence, etc.
You will estimate, attend job summary review meetings, read and understand design plans, read, produce and understand computer generated graphs and reports and information from ship checks.
You will prepare, issue and maintain shipyard schedules for assigned ships or projects.
You will assist Project Team in development of job summaries by providing technical and CPM assistance.
You will maintain current knowledge of the requirements of NA VSEA and local instructions pertaining to scheduling and fully comply with those requirements in the development and issuance of schedule products.
You will adapt to changing scheduling methods, procedures, and technology using personal initiative and minimum instruction.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience planning and scheduling of projects to accommodate non-programmed workload.
Experience with preparing, issuing, and maintaining shipyard schedules for assigned ships or projects.
Experience with reviewing work packages and technical information to support scheduling.
Experience utilizing Performance Measurement and Control System (PMC) and Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) to accomplish work.
