You will serve as a Planner and Estimator (Aircraft Overhaul and Repairer) in the MRO Production Department of the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will plan, estimate, and coordinate negotiated workload requirements of inducted and assigned Planned Maintenance Interval (PMI), In-Service Repair (ISR), and Modification aircraft systems and sub-systems. You will analyze statistical, man-hour, material, and workload information to develop a production schedule. You will interpret, analyze, and apply schematics, blueprints, specifications, technical publications, and technical directives. You will identify production capacity shortfalls and recommend course of action. You will prepare command correspondence and production status reports for senior management and other command activities.

  • Work assignments involve walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, climbing and lifting.
  • This position is subject to lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance, and over 40 pounds will not be attempted unaided.
  • You may subject to environmental factors such as working outside and inside, excessive heat, cold, noise, dust, vibration, and working in confined spaces.
  • You may exposed to industrial materials such as cleaning chemicals, solvents, hydraulic fluids, oils and greases.
  • Selectee(s) may occasionally be required to use toxic chemicals and/or work in the presence of toxic fumes requiring the use of appropriate breathing apparatus.
  • You must be able to obtain/maintain required certification and/or license, as a condition of employment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Provide Production Support Services, where you have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1) Applying knowledge of industrial processes, aircraft maintenance procedures, and technical specifications to meet production goals; 2) Determining configuration requirements and incorporating technical directives; 3) Interpreting, analyzing, and applying schematics, blueprints, specifications, technical publications, and technical directives; and 4) Determining sequence of work operations, equipment, material, and technical information required to accomplish goals.
