This position is located in the Museum Conservation Institute (MCI), the Under Secretary for Science and Research, Smithsonian Institution (SI). The Museum Conservation Institute (MCI) is a research institute of the Smithsonian Institution founded in 1963 as the Conservation Research Laboratory of the United States National Museum.
Duties
This position serves as a Management Support Specialist at the Museum Conservation Institute (MCI), with responsibility for performing a full range of activities associated with Human Resources support, processing procurement requests, purchase card transactions, travel management, budget formulation and execution, funds management and other financial administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Requires career/career-conditional status or eligibility.

- May need to complete a Probationary Period.
Qualifications
At the GS-11 Grade Level:
Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as: directly supporting human resources, travel and procurement activities and responsibilities and providing professional support and assistance on a full range of administrative duties.
OR
Education: Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree if directly related.
OR
A combination of specialized experience and related Ph.D. level education as described above.
