This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for assessing the force feasibility of Operation Plans and Contingency Plans developed by the Combatant Commanders and their Service Components.
Duties
As a CONTINGENCY SOURCING DATA ANALYST at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Supports, as an action officer, assessment and refinement of Geographic Combatant Command Operation Plans and Contingency Plans, as well as the Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff strategic planning frameworks that guide global integration, prioritization, and strategic objectives.
Develops and presents assessments on the Global Force Management impacts of the the periodic Directed Readiness Tables and Apportionment Tables used to support strategic and operational planning.
Develops GFM products and makes recommendations supporting the Chairman's Global Integrated Exercise process or other strategic planning events with impact on the global defense enterprise.
Applies data analytics expertise to use various GFM software databases and analytic tools (such as Advana-ORION, the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), and others) to streamline assessments, identify trends, project future shortfalls, and prompt and validate alternative solutions.
Assists in requirements documentation, development, and operational assessment of data analytic tools relevant to force feasibility assessments.

- The work requires occasional CONUS/OCONUS TDY travel by commercial or military carrier - 10% of time. Passport required.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-12 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Using a broad range of information gathering and analysis techniques to extract actionable conclusions from complex, ill-defined, interrelated systems in order to plan and perform assigned reviews and studies;
Providing recommendations to senior leadership on Global Force management and Contingency Sourcing processes;
Developing and presenting assessments used to support strategic and operational planning.

Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
