This position is located in the Sales Directorate. Serves as File Maintenance Assistant for the Sales Directorate. Responsible for operating a personal computer to perform records research, data input, and data corrections in Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) business systems.
Duties
Position responsibilities include:
Performs catalog file maintenance.
Enters adds, deletes, and allocations for items.
Reviews cost, adjustment, and retail price information compared to source documents.
Researches queries to related issues and makes recommendations for required actions.
Answers questions from other DeCA teams, industry representatives, and stores on related issues, and performs a number of quality assurance activities.
This position offers promotion potential to a higher grade. To prepare you for the higher grade, work assignments will be progressively more complex. After meeting all qualifications and requirements for the next grade level and with your supervisor's recommendation, you may be promoted without further competition. However, promotion is neither guaranteed nor automatic.

Experience: To qualify at the GS-05, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-04 grade level (or equivalent) by the closing date of this announcement.
OR
Education: Four years of education above high school. Transcripts are required if relying on education, in whole or in part, to qualify. See Required Documents for more information.
OR
Combination of experience and education: To calculate the combination, divide your total months of experience by 12, then divide your semester hours by 60 and add the two percentages. If the total is 100%, you meet the minimum qualifications through a combination of experience and education.
Experience: To qualify at the GS-06, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level (or equivalent) by the closing date of this announcement.

Examples of specialized experience for the GS-05:
Operating a personal computer to perform records research, data input, and data corrections in business systems.
Researching queries to related issues and making recommendations for required actions.
Answering questions from other teams, industry representatives, and stores on file maintenance related issues.
Examples of specialized experience for the GS-06:
Performing quality assurance activities.
Verifying and editing forms for completeness and accuracy and contacting appropriate personnel for missing or unmatched data.
Reviewing cost, adjustment, and retail price information compared to source documents.
Examples of specialized experience for the GS-07:
Filing backup documentation as required based on appropriate guidelines and procedures by scanning, saving, capturing documents through utilization of the Agency's electronic filing system.
Assists industry representative with vendor portal, GDS, or other supplier registration concerns.
Demonstrates the knowledge if the impact that pricing and file maintenance issues have on store level execution.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

You must also meet the following requirements by the announcement closing date:
Current and former federal employees in either the competitive or excepted service and current federal employees applying under VEOA eligibility are subject to time-in-grade. You must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade level to be eligible for promotion. See the Required Documents section to learn what documents are necessary to show you meet this requirement. You must submit SF50s with your application package to verify you held the next lower grade level for at least 52 weeks. You may need to submit two (2) or more SF50s. Examples of appropriate SF 50s include Promotion, Reg WRI, and SF 50s effective more than 52 weeks ago. The next lower grade level for the GS-07 position is GS-06. The next lower grade level for the GS-06 position is GS-05.
Current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest nontemporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment. For this requirement, a competitive appointment is one where you applied to and were appointed from an announcement open to "All US Citizens."
If the position is filled below the full performance grade level, your work assignments will be progressively complex and intended to broaden your skills and provide you with practical experience to prepare you for the full performance grade level. Promotion up to and including the full performance grade level is neither guaranteed nor automatic but may be made without further competition and with your supervisor's recommendation.
Education
Education used to qualify for this position must be from an accredited school or educational institution recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education and a copy of your transcript is required as part of your application package. For the application process, unofficial transcripts are acceptable if they contain the applicant's name, the name of the school, the date and degree that was awarded, and the list of classes and credits earned. Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position. If selected, you must provide an official transcript before we set your entrance on duty date.
Foreign Education. If using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show a private organization specializing in interpreting foreign education programs has deemed the foreign education equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program or show that a U.S. accredited college or university has given full credit for the foreign courses.
You may not use education to qualify for the GS-06, or GS-07 grade levels.
