About the Position: Serves as principal assistant to the Chief of Staff in the discharge of assigned responsibilities and key advisor to the Command Group regarding administration and coordination of Command operations located with US ARMY AVIATION AND MISSILE COMMAND, SECRETARY OF THE GENERAL STAFF.
Duties
Provide guidance in the overall aspects and ramifications of problems of administration associated with Command mission.
Provide executive assistance and management support to the Command Group, administering Taskers, Command Correspondence, Protocol, and Management Support functions.
Provide sound, mature advice, and recommendations to the Commander on the credible orchestration of administrative products, programs, and initiatives.
Research, analyze, interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures.
Leads and manages the organizational interactions with customers from a strategic standpoint.
Establishes and/or leads teams to carry out complex projects or programs. Resolves conflicts. Creates climate where empowerment and creativity thrive
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% or more.
- This position is considered Emergency-Essential.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience:
one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the NH-03 pay band level or equivalent grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service which includes coordinating administrative matters that cross organizational lines; managing administrative products, programs, and initiatives; analyzing, coordinating, and recommending adjustments and changes to policies and procedures to improve staff operations; and administering management support functions such as taskers, and budget.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
