You will serve as a Supervisory Security Specialist (Activity Security Manager) in the Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence Activity N2N6I of NAVAL INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITY.
All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will be responsible for execution of collateral and Sensitive Compartmented Information security policies and procedures.
You will serve as the principal advisor and representative to the Director, NIA in all information, personnel, and physical security matters.
You will coordinate the preparation, dissemination, and maintenance of security classification guides under NIA cognizance as required by DoD and DoN policies.
You will perform first-level supervisory responsibilities to include, prioritizing assignment of work, position management, recruitment, performance appraisals, counselling/disciplinary actions, awards and training.
You will ensure threats to security and security incidents pertaining to classified information, including foreign government information, are reported, recorded, coordinated with the proper authorities.
Requirements

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

- This position may requires a 2-Year DCIPS trial period requirement.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Executing and implementing the policies and procedures governing the protection of collateral and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) facilities, operations, information and material in accordance with organizational standards; 2) Leading self-inspections, staff assistance visits and visual TEMPEST inspections for permanent, temporary and tactical aircraft, ship, shore and submarine based SCI facilities; 3) Using delegated authority for independent reviews, analysis, and approval authorizations for SCIF construction and renovation projects; 4) Developing, maintaining, and disseminating command security classification guides and security instructions; 5) Evaluating overall project costs, schedules, contract requirements, and potential impact to fleet readiness, mission, and project success.
