You will serve as a Supply Technician of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.
Duties
You will assist the Fleet with screening and coordinating hazardous material (HAZMAT) offloads to prevent good, unopened, and unused HAZMAT from entering the waste stream.
You will provide services for management and operational support of HAZMAT for the Fleet as part of the Navy's Regional CHRIMP Program.
You will distribute, update, and provide maintenance to ensure that all ships have the current version of the software is installed and operational.
You will be responsible for Ashore or Afloat hazardous material (HM) offloads for all shore units or home ported and transient ships and submarines.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift certification.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an Afloat HAZMAT Coordinator, HMCM Technician, and CHRIMP/HICS Technician courses within six months of employment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-6) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing complex technical supply support work to include, conducting research, inventory management, and technical support work related to the handling of hazards associated with the types of HAZMAT stored aboard ships, submarines and HAZMAT Minimization Centers.
Examples of specialized experience may include some of the following:
1) Maintain a supply database for automated inventory records and collection of data for the preparation of reports and to document receipt, distribution and tracking of hazardous materials;
2) Identify, coordinate and prepare documentation for the transportation, delivery and acceptance of hazardous material;
3) Coordinate offload/disposal of excess material and the preparation of transfer documents;
4) Assist in determining what types of storage, segregation, special handling and/or labeling is required for all hazardous material in support of afloat units.
