About the Position: Serves as a Budget Analyst within the Deputy Chief for Resource Management, G-8, Budget, Integration and Cost Division with responsibility to support the planning, programming, budgeting and execution functions for all of AMC's assigned appropriations.
Duties
Serve as a Budget Analyst with responsibility for accomplishment of major subordinate command (MSC) level program-budget execution, review, and analysis functions for a major segment of the AMC?s missions.
Develop and provide analysis for overall funding portfolio, leverage decision support tools to provide advice for preparing all analysis associated with the AMC portfolio.
Resource integration of new missions and resources into the AMC Enterprise by leveraging data analysis through DOD and Army data and ERP platforms.
Reviews and analyzes DA Program Budget Guidance (PBG), both narrative and quantitative portions, to determine impact of changes on budget years and to perform in-depth analysis leveraging current Army and DOD platforms.
Acts as independent advisor, providing analysis and recommendations to management officials of AMC by leveraging qualitative and quantitative approaches to budget analysis, and leveraging innovative approaches to data analytics.
Accomplish necessary coordination with serviced activities to assure full understanding of finalized presentation to higher headquarters; justifies and presents approved changes to counterparts at HQDA, as applicable.
Requirements
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Incumbent of this position is required to obtain Financial Management Level 2 certification within 24 months of occupying the position.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of budgetary and administrative functions; experience supporting the budget and execution oversight functions for all assigned appropriations through integrated and consolidated analysis leveraging budget data analysis platforms. Performs analysis and presentation, and execution oversight of budgets, providing impartial analysis and recommendations to leadership and management officials by leveraging qualitative and quantitative approaches to budget analysis, and leveraging innovative approaches to budget data analytics tools. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
