The position is located in Nursing Services in the Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS) at the Lake Nona Campus. The incumbent is responsible for providing a broad, complex and diverse scope of administrative, technical, and specialized support for Nursing Administration. The incumbent is an essential member of the Nursing Services team which directly supports the Nursing Services Supervisor, Nurse Managers, and Chief Nurses.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Provides administrative and problem-solving support to Nursing Administration, specifically, establishing operational/procedural protocols, data collection of overtime/sitter hours, and evaluates/interprets and distributes action required and unsigned notes reports in support of Nursing Leadership.
Collects, assembles, evaluates and summarizes multiple operational systems and processes for data collection, documentation/regulation compliance, budgetary needs related to office supply requests and file management requirements.
Data collection is prepared at various increments such as weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually in support of Nursing Leadership.
Maintains disciplinary files, external summaries and tracks/audits Light Duty, Occupational Workman's Compensation Program
(OWCP), Leave without Pay and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for Nursing Administration and Operations.
Serves as the Nurse Managers' primary point of contact in updating workload in Decision Support System (DSS) Labor Mapping Tool and for the Chief Nurses project requirements based on the incumbent procedural and mission knowledge and prioritization ability.
Serves as a primary Timekeeper for 1-2 T&L's and a backup timekeeper when staffing shortages occur.
Uses a computer and appropriate software to prepare correspondence, analyze data, place supply orders, enter work orders, ensure appropriate employee access, and for payroll processing.
Provides clerical support for nursing meeting minutes, agendas, and presentations and has the ability to schedule meetings, obtain conference rooms and nursing teleconference lines and/or Live Meeting access.
Catalogs nursing records throughout their life cycle; creation, maintenance, use and disposition, via resources available such as electronic and hard copy file systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: 7:30am-4:00pm Monday through Friday

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/21/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.You may qualify based on your experience as described below:

Physical Requirements: Physical demands are limited to walking, lifting of lightweight items, such as books and paper, typing, filing, and using the computer. Work is primarily sedentary, maintaining a seated position at a computer workstation/desk for conducting administrative work or in a conference area for meetings. Writing notes manually is also expected.
