About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital, Human Resources Department, Military Human Resources Branch, Fort Carson, Colorado.

Duties

Provides guidance and direction to subordinate medical units and deploying medical personnel on matters concerning overall Army Medical Department (AMEDD) mobilization and deployment planning. Reviews and analyzes planning documents and programs of higher headquarters to assure hospital is in compliance with medical mobilization and deployment requirements. Works as a Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) and National Guard and Reserve Liaison. Coordinates the replacement of critical Area of Concentration (AOC) personnel who have been lost due to PCS or retirement.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • This is an Inclement Weather Essential position; you must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions
  • This is a Mission Essential position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience planning, coordinating and managing deployments and mobilizations for an installation including active duty, reserve and National Guard components. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Political/Military Science, Emergency Management. or Operation Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsManages and Organizes InformationPlanning and EvaluatingStrategic Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
