You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASS/RECRUIT/PLACE) in the CLASSIFICATION/STAFFING ADVISORY BRANCH of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will provide classification and consultation services for GS and FWS positions.
You will conduct on-site position audits to ensure pay designations (e.g., hazard pay, environmental differential pay [EDP], Fair Labor Standards Act [FLSA]) are applied correctly.
You will advise hiring managers on the procedural and regulatory requirements governing the recruitment process.
You will coordinate with multiple parties (e.g., multiple commands, agencies, human resources offices) to resolve human resources issues.
You will explain classification processes and procedures to managers, employees and union officials.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing Human Resources advisory and consultation services for classification of GS and FWS positions, resolving problems of more than average difficulty; participates in management studies and reviews; provides complex services involving intense research and analysis; provides full range of staffing advisory and consultation services to managers; reviews and monitors personnel actions in progress to ensure adherence to policy and compliance with negotiated agreements; advises on merit system principles and prohibited personnel practices; serves as retirement authority for Voluntary Early Retirement Authority (VERA) and Voluntary Separation Incentive Payments (VSIP).
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing Human Resources advisory and consultation services for classification of GS and FWS positions; provides staffing advisory and consultation services to managers; reviews and monitors personnel actions in progress to ensure adherence to policy and compliance with negotiated agreements; provides advisory and consultation services regarding recruitment strategies and sources, special programs; provides advisory services to employees on retirement such as Voluntary Early Retirement Authority (VERA) and Voluntary Separation Incentive Payments (VSIP).
