About the Position: This position is for a Unit Deployment Manager located at Langley Air Force Base which is a United States Air Force base located in Hampton, Virginia, adjacent to Newport News.
Duties
Plan, organize and oversee all unit level deployment activities.
Configure and maintain functional Unit Type Codes (UTCs) as postured by MAJCOM FAMs (Functional Area Managers) using available unit assets.
Utilize Logistics Module (LOGMOD) to monitor and track unit status during deployments and exercises.
Establish metric and system analysis systems for unit and higher-level management to assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with
regulatory procedures.
Evaluate and recommend deployment package make-up and support requirements as required for each deployment tasking.
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding unit deployment program.
Ensure the unit is ready to meet wartime and peacetime mobility taskings by scheduling and tracking unit deployment training.
Perform a variety of administrative duties in support of the medical facility.
Answer questions such as those dealing with the availability of medical appointments, procedures for obtaining an appointment, and requests
for appointments or appointment changes for the medical facility.
Use multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Plan, organize, and oversee deployment operations; (2) Use multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, and/or formats. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. with a major study in mathematics, hospital/healthcare admin, computer science, information systems management, health information technology, business administration and industrial/organizational management or other fields related to the position to be filled.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
